The three scopes
Every setting in Wash Junkie belongs to exactly one of three owners: you, the business, or one outlet. The tab you are on when you press save is what decides who your change reaches.

Who each scope changes
User is yours and nobody else's. Your name, photo, phone and job title; which events you want alerts for; your password, two-factor and the devices you are signed in on; your keyboard shortcuts. A colleague at the same counter sees no difference when you change any of it.
Business is every outlet at once. The heading tells you so — under the business name it reads "Business-wide · all outlets". Set a tax rate here and Mill Street charges it, and so does every other outlet Fresh Fold Laundry runs.
Outlet is the outlet you are working in right now, and no other. The heading carries that outlet's name and its city, so you always know which one you are about to edit. Switch outlet and you are looking at a different address, a different week of opening hours, different zones.

Three things people hunt for in settings are deliberately not there. Staff members are invited and given a role per outlet on the Team screen — settings holds the roles themselves, not who has them. Services and their prices live on the Catalog screen. Washers and dryers live on the Machines screen.
Who is allowed to save
Your own preferences need no permission at all — they are your account.
Business settings belong to the owner. Anyone else who tries is refused by the server with "Only the business owner can change these settings", not merely shown a greyed-out button.
Outlet settings come to the same thing today. Reading them needs only access to the outlet, so a supervisor can look up the closing time; saving an address, a week of hours or a zone needs the settings permission, and no role ships with it. Until that changes, the owner is the person who can save.
Getting there
Every section has its own address, and the rows in the user menu are real links: right-click one and open it in a new tab if you live in Billing & usage all day. Land on settings with nothing more specified and you arrive at your profile.
The two scopes worth reading before you change anything are Business settings and Outlet settings.
