Revenue and orders

Revenue answers where the money came from and when it arrived. The revenue and orders reports read from the same figures, so a number quoted on one matches the other.

What a period actually selects

1W and 1M are always plotted one point per day, and 3M, 6M and 12M one point per month. A custom or all-time window decides for itself: 92 days or fewer is drawn daily, anything longer monthly, because a year drawn daily is three hundred and sixty-five unreadable labels.

Every bucket in the window is drawn, whether or not anything happened in it. A Sunday with no orders is a zero on the line rather than a missing point, so the shape of a quiet week is visible instead of being smoothed away.

What counts, and what "collected" means

Cancelled and returned orders are not revenue and are left out of every figure on the page. So is any order you have taken off the books.

Collected is summed from the payments ledger rather than from an order being marked paid, so an order half settled contributes half. Pending is what is billed minus what has been collected on those same orders.

Total funds received, in the banner at the top, answers a different question: money that arrived during this window, whatever period the order was billed in. It is the figure that includes an old invoice finally settled this morning, and it is broken out by the payment method whoever recorded it chose. See The payments ledger.

Where it came from

By service groups orders under your own catalogue services. An order with no service on it lands under "Unassigned" rather than being dropped.

By channel splits your own order channels — walk-in, app and web to start with, plus any you have added. Two channels that show the same name are added together into one wedge, so you never see the same label twice with the money split between them.

By day and hour is a grid of seven rows and twelve columns — Monday through Sunday, 08:00 to 19:00 — shaded by how much revenue was taken in that hour. Brighter is more. The hours are your outlet's own local hours, not the server's, so an evening rush reads where you actually worked it. Orders placed outside 08:00 to 19:00 are not in the grid.

What the comparison compares

Every arrow marked "vs previous period" is against the window of the same length immediately before the one you picked. Pick the last 30 days and it compares against the 30 before that.

Both sides are measured over the same elapsed time. Open a 3-month view part-way through the current month and only the days that have actually run are counted, on each side — never a part-run window against a whole one, which is why the arrow does not lurch every time a month turns over.
